This model makes it easier to enjoy the game as a free player and also boosts the game economy. The publisher maintains that there’s no imperative need to spend money on the game, and that it is not P2W (pay to win). The game features a premium currency called platinum that is mainly used to change character appearance (with various skins) but players are free to trade platinum between themselves for items or gold earned in the game. *Broken Ranks is a Free to Play (F2P) game with optional purchases aimed at unlocking added features or speeding up acquirement thereof. It is the record of a brutal reality that brings not only challenges but also opportunities. It is the history of a hero who needs to find strength to restore what the invaders took away from them. It is the tale of a refugee searching for their place in a new world. Game Plotīroken Ranks is a story about uniting a scattered nation. Adventurers will be able to find a lot of captivating story-driven quests and a vast, interesting world ready to be explored alone, in a group, or with guildmates. The title is reminiscent of such classics as Heroes of Might and Magic and Baldur’s Gate. It features 7 Classes (barbarian, archer, sheed, druid, voodoo shaman, fire mage or knight), a unique turn-based combat system, Guilds (including land purchase and headquarters construction), PVP and PVE gameplay, and a vast world seen from an isometric view. ![]() The game is a successor to popular MMORPG The Pride of Taern. Besides that, we are using social media to advertise the game with paid ads, and our plan is to showcase the game as wide as possible to reach players around the world.Broken Ranks is a free to play* MMORPG for PC ( Mac and Mobile versions planned) by Polish studio Whitemoon Games. This is something we will do more in the future, closer to the launch. We worked with some streamers during the Closed Beta event and it was a blast to see how they play and react alongside their viewers. We are using online events (like PAX Online) to get in touch with content creators and media and pitch the game. Now, our goal is to expand and attract more players to the game at launch. We’re already making an appearance in the media worldwide and we attracted some attention and positive feedback from the players, so we’ve broken the ice. This is also something that makes players suspicious, but we are walking the path of other MMOs which also start as standalone titles. Second of all, we are going to release the game in a client-only model, so the game (at least at launch) will not be available on Steam/EGS/GoG. First of all, it’s the F2P model – most players are super careful when it comes to microtransactions, so we are constantly explaining how this will work in Broken Ranks. There are also many issues that we have to face as far as the promotion of the game is concerned. We also hope that if the game has enough players outside Poland and becomes “a thing”, we will attract more attention from major websites. That is why we are trying to reach out to smaller streamers and more genre-focused media outlets as this type of undertaking has a bigger chance of success. A programmer, an artist, and a writer are all that you need to start an MMORPG adventure. Tomasz is our art mastermind while Gabriel is the word guy. I started Whitemoon in 2005 just after finishing my studies, so I didn't have an opportunity to work on any other projects. I studied Computer Science at the Wrocław University of Technology.
